THE MARATHON

Status: completed

Running a marathon is simple on paper: 42.195 km from start to finish. But actually getting there is a test of endurance, discipline, and what happens when your mind starts telling you to stop.

I had only given myself about four weeks to prepare. Even though I knew it was going to be hard, I never really thought that it wasn't possible.

There were moments when my body wanted me to stop. I had cramps in both thighs, my calves, and my feet at the same time, but I kept moving. 4 hours, 44 minutes and 4 seconds after crossing the start line, I crossed the finish line.

This challenge was about finding out what I was capable of when quitting wasn't an option.

Sometimes, all you need is belief in yourself — along with the courage and desire to act on it.
